Privacy Policy
Monjjez (منجز) — Last updated: July 2026
Monjjez ("we", "us") is a gamified exam-preparation application for Sudanese primary, middle, and
secondary school students. We respect your privacy and handle your data responsibly. This Privacy
Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, and how you can control or
delete it. It applies to the Monjjez mobile application and related services.
1. Data We Collect and Why
Account information you provide
- Email address — used for authentication and secure sign-in, password resets and account recovery, and essential service notifications (such as study reminders and progress updates) tied directly to your account.
- Display name and avatar — used to identify you inside the app and in its social features (see Section 3).
- Class/grade level, school name, and region — used to show you the correct curriculum content for your class and to group you appropriately in leaderboards and study features.
Learning and activity data generated as you use the app
- Lesson and question progress, answers, and completion history — used to track your learning, sync your progress across sessions and devices, and support offline use.
- Points (XP), badges, streaks, and league placement — used to run the app's achievement and competition features.
- Friends list and study-room participation — used to provide the social study features you choose to use.
Technical data collected automatically
- Device model, operating system version, device identifiers, and crash/diagnostic logs — used solely to diagnose bugs, protect the security of the service, and improve performance.
- Push-notification tokens — used to deliver notifications you have allowed. Notification delivery relies on the platform's standard services (e.g., Google's messaging infrastructure).
We collect the minimum data needed to run the service. We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone/camera data.
2. Children's Privacy
Monjjez is an educational app intended for school students, including children under 13. We take children's privacy seriously:
- We collect only the minimal information needed to provide the educational service, as described above.
- We do not show third-party advertising, and we never sell children's data or use it for marketing or profiling.
- If you are under the age of majority in your country, you should use Monjjez with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.
- Parents and guardians may contact us at any time at [email protected] to review, correct, or delete their child's data, or to withdraw consent.
- We encourage students to use a nickname rather than a full real name as their display name, since display names are visible to other users (see Section 3).
3. Information Visible to Other Users
Monjjez includes social and competitive features. If you use them, the following information is visible to other users of the app: your display name, avatar, class/grade level, points (XP), badges, and league placement — for example on leaderboards, in friends lists, and inside study rooms you join. Your email address is never shown to other users. If you prefer not to appear to others under an identifiable name, use a nickname as your display name.
4. Zero-Spam Commitment
We do not send unsolicited marketing or promotional emails, and we do not add your email address to any advertising mailing lists. You will only receive essential technical, transactional, or educational notifications directly tied to your account.
5. Data Sharing and Service Providers
- We do not sell your data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information — including your email address — to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes, under any circumstances.
- Service providers: We use trusted third-party providers to operate the app — cloud hosting and database infrastructure, notification delivery, and payment processing for premium subscriptions. These providers may process data only to provide their services to us and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or a valid legal process.
6. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure located in the European Union. Because you may use Monjjez from Sudan, or elsewhere, your data is transferred to and processed in the EU under our providers' standard data-protection safeguards.
7. Data Security
We apply industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of data in transit, hashed passwords (your password is never stored in plain text), row-level access controls on our databases, and least-privilege access for our systems and staff. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
8. Your Rights, Account Deletion, and Data Retention
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. For step-by-step instructions on removing your account, see our Account Deletion page.
Deleting your account from inside the app: open Settings → Delete Account. Deletion takes effect as follows:
- Your account is deactivated immediately and disappears from leaderboards and social features.
- A 30-day grace period follows, protecting you against accidental deletion. If you change your mind during this period, contact us at [email protected] and we will restore your account.
- After the grace period, your personal data — including your email address, display name, and account credentials — is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our production systems.
What we retain: after deletion, we keep a limited set of anonymized, non-identifiable statistics (such as school name, region, and aggregate gameplay/learning statistics) for product analytics and educational research. This retained data is permanently disconnected from your identity and cannot be linked back to you.
You can also request account deletion, or exercise any of your rights, without the app by emailing [email protected] from your registered email address.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you inside the app or by email. Continued use of Monjjez after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
